2011 Ending

Well another year has ended.

Let see what has happened;

Our son got another year older,
bought our house,
took a trip to Mexico,
started teaching First Steps,
got approved and put on a waiting list to adopt another child.

Things to look forward in the new year;

hopefully adopting a second child,
our son starting school in sept,
getting ready for another trip in Mexico at the end of the year,
continuing teaching First Steps

How Do I Know My Boy Is growing up

Well my little man is growing up. How can I tell? Well in the way he thinks and talks.

Here is some of our conversations in the past few days.

1) K-I am going to read the Book of Mormon.
M-Ok.
K-Then I am going to Pray to see if its true.
M-Thats a good idea.

2) *while in our truck my son is asking to come inside the store with me and I tell him no because I am just going quickly in and out quickly and kicks the seat infront of him.
K-sorry for kicking but i just wanna come in.
M-thanking for saying sorry for kicking the seat and I will be just a minute.

3) K-How come when we go see Santa at King Eddy we won't see Santa's reindeer?
M-Well Santa has lots of people to see in many cities, if he uses his reindeers they will be to tired on Christmas Eve to fly and delivery toys to all the children in the world. So Santa flies from the North Pole to all the cities and also drives or takes a bus or has someone drive him from city to city.

4) Here are some question that have come up about his adoption;
-does my tummy mommy love me?
-why doesnt my tummy mommy live with me?
-is my tummy mommy dead?

The area of the road damage. Where you see the road broken all of these pictures are of the same spot. The bridge pictures are of the same bridge.

We had over 200mm of rain (10-15inches) from the night of Sept 5th to Sept 8th (4days). People who have lived in Stewart all their lives have not seen this much rain ever.

I had left the morning of the 6th and got stuck in Terrace, Luckly I was able to get home on the 9th by an RCMP plane due to that there was room. An RCMP officer and one of my husbands coworkers were trapped in Terrace as well and I know them both well,
with my husband having proper clearance I have the same clearance to get on the Plane.

They had closed of the roads and we are not sure as when they will open again. They hope for Sept 16th and some say five weeks, ummmmm but only time will tell.

The picture with the plane and the mountain, I do believe I came over that mountain. We flew over the mountains and glaciers.

Here is the mail plane for Hyder. If you think you have slow mail service, Than try living out there where the mail only comes twice a week IF the weather is good. Meaning a nice clear day with not to many clouds or bad weather conditions such as rain or snow or wind. In the winter months people can be waiting for the mail up to 2months. My little man

My little man had two big falls today.

The first was when he was riding his big boy two wheeler bike with training wheels. He was ridding his bike looking backwards and feel over and scraped his little face a little on his check.

I thought training wheels where suppose to make them more stable on the bike??

The second, We were on the board walk and he ran and tripped and bit on his lip on the way down. Got pretty bloody but he was fine after a few tears and mommy used her sweater as a tissue to wipe the blood away and the tears and after a few hugs.

I had another parent with me who was closer to him but he seemed afraid to let my son get close to him because of his bloody lip. I say this cause he comforted my son by rubbing his arms (i am grateful for that) put making sure he didn't go to close. When I took my soon he warn me to watch out for my sweater. My response to him was its just blood, I don't care. lol So I finished my day with my sweater with blood on it in two different places.

On another note, My son is enjoying his new bed lots. I cant wait to get another mattress for the top bunk as he really wants to sleep on the top bunk.

I cant believe April is already here. I just realized that March only has one blog.

Bunk bed Bunk bed!!

Not only did my son doesnt have his race car bed anymore, he doesnt have his crib mattress to sleep on anymore.

So what does my little man sleep on???? Well I never thought the day would come that my little man would have a bunk bed.

When you walk into his room now not only do you see one twin size bed but two twin size beds one on top of another.

A nice solid pine beds. He not only has a twin mattress but a memory foam mattress to top it all.

The only thing now that I need to do is get more twin size sheets for him. We only have one for him as he was using crib sheets all this time that we had him.

Now lets hope he doest fall off his bed.

He is so proud of his bed. But wehn moving his other bed out he kept saying, "be carefull guys of my race car bed, ok guys, ok".

Wow Almost End of March

I cant believe its the end of the month really soon.

I have not bloged this whole month. Man I really need to find more time to do this.

I am still trying to find a way to put up Kat skating. I have two videos of him and cant seem to upload them on this laptop. Mmmmm maybe on day when he is older and knows how to do these little things... lol

Well Spring is finally here. Nice warm cool weather. It feels like spring it smells like spring..... It is Spring. Yeah!!!!

My Son is growing up

Here are three situations that had happen in the last two days. My boy is growing up.

1st.

I had a meeting to go to and my babysitter forgot to come so I had to bring my son with me. I had brought with me his two favorite games to play with. On the way there I explained to him that he cannot run, talk, ask questions, or interrupt the meeting.

When we got there on of the people looked at me and looked at Kat and said he could tell that I gave him that motherly talk of being good tonight. I had told him "yes".

I had sat my son down in a chair and gave him his stuff and said to be good. A whole hour later I didn't hear my son do anything but play with his toys very quietly. When his toys were too loud and when I had asked him to turn the volume down he didn't even ask me why but just did what he was told to do.

I was so proud of him for being able to be quite for so long.

2nd

After skating last night we went to do some errands, like picking up the mail and other little things. When we were going toward the food store my son asked if we can go eat at Silverado. I told him that we couldn't as we are taking a trip soon and we would be eating out everyday on our trip. Here how the conversation and the rest of the story goes. He never asks to go out and eat hardly ever.

kat - "but silverado is open"
me- "but we are leaving town soon so no"
kat- "I WANT to eat there..... Please Mommy"
me- "we need to save money so we can go and eat out when we go on our trip"
kat- "eat at McDonald's" (so you know we don't have things like that in our small town
me- "yes we can if we didn't eat out tonight we can go there for lunch or supper
kat- (now starting to cry a bit and he has a cold) "silverado is open i want to eat there mommy
me- "tell me what you want and we will go pick it up at the food store and cook it at home"
kat- "I don't want to get food I want silverado" (now crying and telling me he has a cold)
me- "well I need to go in and get supper for the skating tonight Kat. Lets go in and I will call daddy and see what he says about silverado but I need to get things"

Kat is quite and we get to go into the store. I put him in the push cart and we start walking to the frozen foods.

kat- "mommy I got money. daddy gave it to me"
me- "you got money, show mommy"
kat- "no" (and holds his hands on his jacket pocket so I wont go in)

I show kat that I got money by opening my wallet and showing him my money. Than at this point kat says "OK" and shows me his money. As he is taking his money out all I see is a green dollar bill thinking it was a twenty. I was wondering why daddy would give our son twenty dollars to hold. As kat took the rest of it out I see that it was only a five cent Canadian Tire money. So we pick up our things and head to the cash register.

In line and getting our things bagged kat shows the laddies that he has money and wants to pay for it. They say no and that is OK but kat tell me no that he pays for the food and hand his money once again. The ladies take the money and gives it back saying that its OK for this time and that next time he can pay for it.

We get into the truck with our stuff loaded with food for supper and skating supper. Kat again asks about silverado and going there for supper.

me- "kat we just got stuff for supper'
kat- "its open i want eat there"
me- "we just go our supper. we are going home to cook it and eat it"
kat- "Mommy I got money, I pay for super, not you. Me"

I kiss his head and told him he can spend his money on super when we go into town and have many meals to eat out.

He was happy with that.

3rd

We got some shelving and I was putting one together last night. Kat asked me if he could help me out. When I told him he could he went into his room and grabbed his own tools and started to work along with me putting together this shelf.

It seems that I cant get myself into this blogging this year. I need to be taking more photos. That way it will be easier. Just post them up.

Well Tis the month of Feb. Lets see.... I am going on a date on the 14th with the hubby, and we got accepted again to adopt now its just the waiting game.

Our son wants a little brother and little sister, me well lets just say after hearing our son say for half a year that he wanted a baby sister I too now want a little girl.

But I hope our family can grow to be 3-4 kids.

But I will keep you posted.

surprises

My son likes to shock me and surprise me.

Just when I am about to think that my child may need extra help when he goes to school as I ask him for the hundredth time what is the color of something and I had told him dozens of times what it is and he still doesnt give me the right answer I wonder.

I have been working on numbers and letters and weather and days of the week with my son this past month. So far my son is beginning to write his name and is starting to draw a person with a head. eyes, a mouth, and arms and legs coming out of the head. Its cute.

Today at First Steps (a mother and child program where you go and hang out and have a half day structure class with snack (a free service)) my son and I were building a boat as its transportation theme he grabs letter stickers and grabs a K. He runs to me and says,"Mommy letter k like me Kat". Than I had pointed the rest of the letters in his name and he was able to tell me the letters in his name. At home I asked him to spell his name to me and he did.

Now I have a question. I am very proud of him but WHERE in the world did he learn this from

Weird weather for Stewart BC

Well, I am sure that Stewart bc has really weird weather.

I can rain for days than snow really heavy than rain for more days and snow for more.

This happening so much that the only one road out of here has been closed due to avalanches happening that blocks the road completely.

Never had any of this in Montreal. In a weird way for me it is kind of fun and interesting. Doesnt bother me at all.

Its been said that this only happens in the months of Jan and Feb only.

With all this rain, snow and rainsnow I wonder how the summer is going to turn out for us.

Well I got the snow I wanted. The last two days it snowed a lot. It was very nice to see all of the snow. But today, NNnnnOOOooo it is raining. Its pouring. NNnnooooo I dont want this rain. They are calling for rain the next three days and this coming week it is calling for a week of rain. 80mm+ to be exact. This means that all of the nice fresh snow we got is going to be gone gone gone.

darn cold here in stewart

Well I have been told the last 1 1/2 years that it snows a lot here and it never gets cold.

Last year we were lucky if we got 4 feet of it. This year we got less than than that. Than got a good load of snow and we got rain. It rained so much that it melted all the snow we got and some more.

Now it is just bloodly cold outside and it is like -20 with the windchill.

So where is this famous snow fall that we are suppose to get and this mild winter.

I have looked on the weather network and it says it is suppose to snow next soon for three days in a row with 30cm of snow all together or more. Yeah right, I will believe it when I see it.

All I am asking is to give us lots of snow. TO, London, N.S, Montreal, etc. I can go on with other cities that are getting all of our snow that we should be getting and they are getting it when they never do.

I WANT SNOW...... I WANT SNOW!!!!!

On the night of New Years eve, after coming home from a friends home after bringing in the New Year I was getting my son ready for bed and I started to hear fire works outside. Living in a small town people use fire works more often for celebrations. When hearing them I brought my son outside with me to see the fire works holding him in my arms. When he notice the fire works after pointing them out to him she asks me, "Mommy, why stars falling in sky"? It was to cute that I had to laugh as I explained to him that it as not stars but fire works.

Wecome 2011, Your finally came.

Well my family had a year full of ups and downs and challenges.

We finalized our adoption with our son who is now 3 1/2 years old.

We move acrossed the country for my husband job and now live in a beautiful place that is breathtaking.

We started the process of adopting another child and got our home study done and now we are awaiting for it to be approved.

We bought a new truck. Got a dog.

Now we await for our home study to go to the commity to be approved and than to be put on the waiting list.

So heres to a new year.

Speaking about little boys mine got into trouble twice in a twenty four hour period.

On Friday night I had to bring my son into the emergancy. Why you ask, well because my son came to me with a qtip and asked me if he could put it in his nose. When I told him no I thought of asking him if he did that already. He told me no with a smile. When I asked him again he said yes. When I asked him to come to me I looked in his nose and I saw a white cottoning thing in his nose.

But lets go back a few hours earlier. Kat was playing as he does by himself and I hear some noises. When I came to inspect the noise I saw from my living room to down the hall to the bathroom the the toom across from the bathroom his toy room on the floor layed qtips.

After grabing all the qtips I burned them all. Now lets go back to me finding a qtip in his nose, i call our er told them I was coming in with my son and why. I get the the er and my son his having a time of his life. He bounced on the er bed and pointed to everything asking me what it was for. The doctor did take it out with tweeser and he was fine.

I was told by the nurses that they would be seeing lots of us and to get use to coming into the er.

Than not even 20 hours later our son goes back and forth from the bathroom doing something (acroding to daddy) and when he checked on him he found him in the bathroom. Well once daddy kicked him out of the bathroom I was done making breakfast, i called my boys to come to eat. It was waffles.

One thing about my son is that he loves waffles. He can eat a lot of waffles, almost as much as a lumber jack when it comes to waffles. So when he came to eat, he was very quite, not eating, picking at his food, complaining about a pain in his check land looked pail. He got up to walk around and fell to the floor and lyed on the floor saying he wanted to sleep. Once breakfast was done he went to the chair in the living room and watched cartoons as I went to use the potty.

When I got to the potty I notice the floor was went, so I looked behind the door and found daddys listerine opened (daddy didnt close the bottle tight enough for the childproof lid to lock) and the cap full and some on the floor. After I picked it up and cleaned up the mess and sat on the potty and thought of the mess and how my son was doing it CLICKED in my head. My SON drank some listerine and was drunk for a short time.

Let the good times roll. I wonder what is next with our son.

Lets just say that the bathroom has a baby gate on the door and my son has lost the right to go to the bathroom on his own and has to now ask for help to get over the gate when he has to go and use it.

But We had a few snow days, not much and it didnt stay long here in Stewart. But it is quite cool to see snow on the mountain and the pine trees all covered up in snow half way down and then you see green pine trees with no snow on it. Very Beautiful.

We are suppose to get more snow and its suppose to stay this time this week. It has been said we are suppose to get 20 something feet of snow this year. I cant wait.

Our Christmas tree is already up and has been since the first of Nov.

Our son is doing well in ice skating and is talking a lot better now as well.

Well it has been a full year as the 13th of this month that we had offically adopted our son and on the 16th of this month it will be one year since I have been in Stewart.

The picture of the lake if you look close enough there is an rv that fell into that lake which is right next to bear glacier. some touriste came and went out of their rv to take pictures and left the rv in drive I guess and it roll of the cliff.

The one with kat on the waterslide he does enjoy them. He was spining himself that day on the slide everytime he went down. This time he forgot to put his goggles on.

This is Halloween week. I love Halloween. I cant wait to start doing Halloween theme activities with my son. We already had our decorations up since Sept 30th. We have three pumpkins to cut out and cook the seeds.

Time to make some Halloween decorations. I use to do lots of Halloween with my aunt when I was a little girl. Halloween and Christmas was the best with my aunt. We did lots of things and baking. I really miss her the most on these specail days.

I try to keep up the tradition things we did with my own son now. Keeping it alive.

Kat Skating... 2nd Firgure Skating Class

We put Kat in Figure Skating this year as he was old enough to join. These pictures are his second day skating. He goes twice a week for 30 mins each. He was on the ice last year with support of a skating support pushing device. In his class he is on all his own. From the first class to the second he has learn how to get up when he falls and is starting to skate on his own, as well he can walk on the ice by himself.

Well now that I am on call for both of my jobs I have decided to teach my son preschool stuff.

So this is the kind of things that he is learning.

Next week we are learning about harvesting, than thanks giving, than hibernation than Halloween. This will bring us to the end of the month of October. With each week we will do the same kinds of things for each theme.
